Answers to frequently asked questions about CBD.

What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, which is a chemical compound found in the hemp plant, a strand of the cannabis plant that lacks significant quantities of tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. Unlike THC, CBD does not provide any negative effects on your mental state or your body’s functionality. This naturally occurring substance has numerous health benefits including promoting full-body homeostasis, reducing anxiety, and supporting healthy skin.

What is the difference between CBD found in hemp vs. marijuana?

The Whole Hemp Powder contains CBD derived from hemp, one of the two strands of the cannabis plant. The other strand is marijuana and they differ in the amount of THC present. For a plant to be classified as hemp, it must have less than 0.3% THC, meaning that it contains all the amazing health benefits of the cannabis plant but cannot cause any of the psychoactive symptoms associated with marijuana.

What is “full spectrum” CBD?

There are three different types of CBD: isolate, broad-spectrum and full spectrum. The Whole Hemp Powder is formulated with full-spectrum CBD, meaning it contains the whole cannabis plant. Full Spectrum CBD provides the full benefit of all the compounds in the cannabis plant and contains terpenes and other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN and trace amounts of THC (typically less than 0.3%). These terpenes and cannabinoids work together to provide a synergistic wellness effect that broad spectrum and isolate products lack.

Why is MCT paired with CBD?

The Whole Hemp Powder contains Whole Food MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides) to dissolve the cannabinoids, which are fat-soluble and are best digested with a high-fat supplement like MCT[1]. In addition to aiding bioavailability, MCT helps to support your body’s ability to burn fat and reduce inflammation.

What is the Parasympathetic system?

The Parasympathetic system is the part of your nervous system responsible for keeping your body in a state of “rest and digest.” It essentially keeps your body balanced, happy and well-rested by managing your body’s chemicals to keep stress levels normal.

What is the Endocannabinoid system?

The Endocannabinoid system is your body’s biggest neurotransmitter network. We have endocannabinoid receptors in our brain, muscles, and skin. Our cannabinoids’ primary function is homeostasis, which keeps our body balanced physically and emotionally. CBD is special because it binds to our endocannabinoid receptors to promote full-body wellness and restore balance. We need this system to maintain a comfortable life and survive.

There are three key ways CBD interacts with your Endocannabinoid system:

  1. Anxiety– CBD can help suppress enzymes, which break down endocannabinoids. This leaves more cannabinoids available to bind to target cells, thereby helping to alleviate symptoms of anxiety[1].
  2. Sleep– CBD can help with sleep issues by allowing the endocannabinoid system to regulate itself better[2].
  3. Anti-inflammatory– CBD contains cannabinoids that bind to C1 receptors in our central nervous system, which helps alleviate inflammation. An excess of inflammation can cause pain[3].

How does CBD support your skin?

CBD is rich in vitamins A, C, and E, all of which promote healthy, youthful skin. Vitamin A helps restore elasticity and keeps the skin looking firm. Vitamin C helps stimulate collagen production to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. And Vitamin E helps block free radicals that speed up the aging process. Also, because CBD acts as an anti-inflammatory, it helps soothe the skin to reduce sensitivity, redness, and breakouts.

How does CBD oil powder differ from CBD oil?

The Whole Hemp Powder contains CBD oil powder for improved bioavailability and rapid results for the on-the-go woman. While CBD oil can be unappetizing and insoluble, our Whole Hemp Powder is tasteless, odorless, and easily mixable with all of your favorite beverages.
